Same Fault – Suzuki Alto Recalled For Third Time

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company has recalled the country’s famous small hatchback 2019-21 “Alto” third time in a year, surprisingly for the same reason – faulty fuel filler neck. Earlier, the company recalled the car in the mid of September 2022.

As per the company’s notification posted on social media, Suzuki has decided to start a service campaign for the Alto units manufactured in the year 2019, 2020, and 2022. The company post further informed, “head to the nearest dealership and get fuel filler neck replaced free of cost.”

“It is suspected that the Neck Fuel Filter of these vehicles can be rusted with the passage of time, and in the worst condition, it may be perforated,” the company stated. Pak Suzuki fears that the defective part may cause fuel leakage, further prone to a severe accident.

It is relevant to mention that the prior service campaign was launched in Karachi, but now, PSMC has stretched it across the country.

Booking Opens For All Suzuki Cars

The past few months have been crucial for the local automobile industry, given the prevailing economic downturn laced with import restrictions imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan. Import embargo urged the automakers to announce back-to-back production cuts and booking suspensions, which in turn led to low sales and a slump in profit charts.

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) was among the car companies facing the same fate. However, in a bid to bring things on track, the company has resumed the bookings for all cars. Earlier, Pak Suzuki announced the same, but for corporate customers restrained to the confined numbers of units and models.

Therefore, as per a recent notification, the bookings have been resumed for all customers. Each model will be sold under the terms of a specific quota, and the delivery time for all models will be 2 months. The decision can help the company to witness a new high in sales in the coming months.
